i. Pygmy Community Empowerment Ministry. How to help Indigenous Peoples (Pygmies) in DRC?
The Indigenous Peoples (Pygmies) of the Democratic Republic of Congo face significant socio-economic challenges, including illiteracy, poverty, and limited access to education, healthcare, and resources due to historical marginalization and a transition from a forest-based nomadic lifestyle to semi-sedentary living. This has resulted in inadequate infrastructure, low income levels, and limited opportunities for sustainable livelihoods. Addressing these issues requires prioritizing capacity-building, preserving cultural identity, improving living conditions, ensuring access to natural resources, and integrating their development with other communities. Proposed solutions include establishing educational and health facilities, fostering agricultural and entrepreneurial initiatives, and promoting the socio-economic empowerment of Indigenous Peoples to enhance their quality of life and ensure their inclusion in broader societal development.
ii. Widows & Childcare Ministry
The Widows & Childcare Ministry is dedicated to providing hope and support to widows, orphans, and vulnerable children across Africa, envisioning a dignified future rooted in Christ’s love. Guided by the mission to care for the suffering and restore hope in the spirit of James 1:27, the ministry rebuilds lives and improves well-being through holistic interventions. Its primary objective, inspired by Isaiah 1:17, is to defend the fatherless and advocate for widows while addressing their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. Activities include providing food, clothing, healthcare, education, and protection, as well as evangelism and life-skills training. The HOPE CENTER ORPHANAGE further supports children with shelter, nutrition, medical care, and educational opportunities, striving to nurture their growth and ensure a brighter future.
Other actions:
The Ministry’s initiatives aim to provide comprehensive support to widows, orphans, and vulnerable children, improving their social, economic, and cultural conditions. Programs include Sunday school feeding, offering meals to encourage children’s participation in Bible teachings, and school feeding to support consistent attendance. Women’s empowerment focuses on widows through land security, agricultural inputs, micro-enterprise training, and health initiatives. Recreational and educational activities, along with sustainable development measures such as goat farming and socio-economic infrastructure, uplift these populations. Through the HOPE Centre Orphanage, the Ministry provides shelter, education, and skills training, helping orphans and children with special needs transition to productive adulthood. With a mission grounded in solidarity and justice, the Ministry invites donors to join in creating brighter futures for those in need.
